All I have to say is that the NWA Arena is in for a treat with Damien Wayne. He's one of the top 5 wrestlers I've ever senn live and that covers a few thousand wrestlers.

Now that we've got the list of 16, the first thing that struck me were the matchups of guys that I expected to be, or at least could end up in, the final eight. If you had given me the list of names, without telling me the pairings, I would have probably handicapped them something like this: Final Four: Pearce, Albright, Danielson, Creed (or Nishimora) Elite Eight: Parham, Wayne, Nishimora (or Creed) One & Done: Aguilera,Sampson, Shane, Parks, Castignoli, Ryan, Sicodelico, Nicholls, and Devitt I guess what this says is that I would have done a lousy job of handicapping the tournament There's a couple of those that I think could have gone up or down one round, Aguilera in particular. Now that we've seen the matchups though, there's at least three that'll make the 2nd round I would have thought had no chance to advance, and just as many that I would have figured virtually sure to get at least one win that won't. We'll see how it plays out obviously, for now I'm going to try to adapt an attitude somewhere between neutral & cautiously optimistic about the end result of the tourney, but there's no doubt that the powers that be are certainly looking at things a lot different that I have been. Might turn out better, might turn out worse, but definitely different.

I'll be very giddy if/when Bryan Danielson wins the title.
