NWA Anarchy
Seasons Beatings ‘06
December 30, 2006
- We return to the Remember When Theater in Helen, Georgia on a gloomy and rainy night, but inside the sun is shining upon the stars of NWA Anarchy. Greg Hunter joins us from the parking lot of the Remember When Theater. Color Commentator John Johnson is 30 minutes late and flaunts mistletoe. He reveals his plans to kiss the Anarchy Angel Mary underneath the mistletoe. How romantic.
- A video airs previewing all of the major matches for Seasons Beatings ‘06.
- Our master of ceremonies for tonight’s events is “the Best d**n Ring Announcer in Georgia” Eddie Rich and he informs everyone that WE THE PEOPLE are singing the National Anthem.
- Oh, lord, Johnson is on a sleigh and he can’t get mistletoe off is his mind. Miss Mary is in for the most unpleasant experience of her life. Hunter sends off to ER so that he can interview “the International Superstar” Jimmy Rave. Rave promises to take the NWA Anarchy TV Champion Ace Rockwell straight to Hades. Rockwell reminds everyone that he always overcomes the odds no matter how many doubts the masses might have about him.
1. “The Seven Figured Deal” Ace Rockwell pinned “International Superstar” Jimmy Rave to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title.
THE MATCH: Early on, Rave displays his aristocratic arrogance early by slapping Rockwell. Rockwell doesn’t take too kindly and goes on an offensive flurry. They fight on the ring apron where Rave launches an assault with a STO. Rave brutalizes Rockwell throughout the ringside area. Back in the ring, Rave methodically works over Rockwell inside and outside the ring. The crowd rattles Rave’s nerves by chanting for Ace. Rockwell eludes a high knee in the corner and takes advantage with a baseball slide. He catches Rave with a top rope cross bodyblock for a near fall. Rockwell looks frustrated when he can’t put away Rave with a spin out fisherman and spinebuster. Rockwell sits Rave on the top turnbuckle and executes a beautiful superplex. Ace makes the cover, but Rave kicks out at 2½. Rave escapes the Ace’s High and connects with a spear for a near fall. Rave lands a running knee and spinning neckbreaker for another near fall. ACE HULKS UP after taking a running knee! Rockwell beats on Rave, but gets caught with Gonorrhea for a two count. Rave rises to the Danger Zone. Rockwell sets up for a second superplex, but Rave shrugs him off. Rockwell leaps back up and catches Rave with a top rope Ace’s High for the victory. Rave follows the Code of Honor and shakes Rockwell’s hand. The segment concludes with a wonderfully done video highlights package.
COMMENTS: This was the best non-ROH match I’ve seen Rave wrestle in. Rave always had a great personality, but his in ring work used to lack the extra oomph to keep the fans interested. Rockwell kept up with Rave and proved himself of being a great worker. They definitely raised the bar for the entire night of wrestling.

- Dan Wilson has had two long weeks to think about what Jeff G Bailey did to him. The spark has ignited the war. Bailey can speak out of both sides of his mouth like a typical attorney and Wilson hopes he is stupid enough to believe that he is a mere simpleton. Wilson asks has a simpleton left Bailey lying on his back before. Wilson had respect for Bailey even when he should have been eliminated. Bailey dug deep into his pockets to bring in Mikael Judas, but he has three men that outweigh him. They will crush his soul tonight. Wilson reminds Bailey he is not like mujadean. Bailey is too afraid to given up his worldly riches. Bailey is a hypocrite because he can’t take his riches with him when he dies. There will be a new Jihad tonight. He assigns Azreal to Jeff Lewis because he is soft and wants him to show what hell fells like. Tempers is to face the jacked out midget freak Onyx. He wants Tempers to bash Onyx’s brains in. The rest of them are to take out Mikael Judas. He calls Judas a poser. The entire NWA Elite is scared no matter how much propaganda Bailey’s spew. It will be a very Black Christmas for the NWA Elite.
2. Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix won Tag Team Turmoil.
(a) Adrian Hawkins & TC Carnage defeated Jason Blackman & Adam Roberts.
Johnson proclaims Eddie Rich is a moron because he continues to announce TC Carnage as being from Birmingham, Alabama. Blackman gains the advantage on Hawkins with a backbreaker. They get heat on Hawkins by working over his back with high impact maneuvers. Hawkins catches Blackman with a rana, but is unable to make the tag because Blackman nails Carnage. Hawkins finally makes the hot tag to Carnage. Roberts mossies back to his corner to avoid Carnage. Carnage works over Blackman until Roberts catches him from behind. Carnage press slams Hawkins on Roberts on the arena floor. Blackman sets up for a superplex, but Carnage shoves him off and lands the Alabama Jam for the win. Roberts grabs a chair and stomps it on Carnage’s ankle. What a dirty rotten scoundrel Roberts is.
(b) Truitt Fields & Phil Shatter defeated Hawkins & Carnage by submission.
Fields & Shatter obliterates Carnage’s bad knee while Hawkins is knocked out at ringside. Carnage submits to a half crab.
(c) Team Macktion (Krazy K & TJ Mack) defeated Fields & Shatter.
Fields & Shatter squashes TJ with a double bodysplash for a near fall. They connect with the Hart Attack, but fail to make the cover. Mack escapes a suplex and uses a spinning neckbreaker to allow himself time to make the tag to Krazy. Shatter accidentally clotheslines Fields over the top rope to the floor and Krazy takes advantage with a double 619 for the pin.
(d) Austin Creed & Hayden Young defeated Team Macktion.
Creed lands his patented somersault clothesline on Krazy early on. Young tags in and uses high flying maneuvers to maintain control. Krazy reverses fortune with a Fireman’s carry into a guttbuster on Young. Moments later, Krazy tags back in with a rolling senton and holds Young in a bridging chinlock so that Mack can use the top rope to kick Young. Krazy makes the cover for a two count. Young fires up the crowd, but they are split between both teams. Young eludes a top rope double stomp and catches Krazy with a snapmare driver. Creed receives the tag. Krazy whips Creed into the ropes, but Young makes the blind tag. Krazy gets pinned after a back suplex/neckbreaker combination.
(e) Brody Ray Chase & Brandon Phoenix defeated Creed & Young.
This match starts as a Pier 6 brawl. Creed & Young dominate the heels early on. The heels retreat so Creed wipes them out. Young decides to fly as well and wipes them out with a suicide senton. Chase motions that he lost a tooth. They regroup and take over when Phoenix lands a double sledge to Creed’s chin. Chase & Phoenix work over Creed using a variety of high impact maneuvers. Creed catches Phoenix with a desperation kip up clothesline. Young receives the hot tag and goes to town. Young pounds on Phoenix in the corner. With Young’s back turned, Chase crushes him with a powerbomb. Chase makes the cover on Young, but Creed makes the save. Creed connects with an overhead belly to belly for a two count. Phoenix catches Young with a T-bone suplex. He makes the cover, but Young makes the save. Young reverses a Chase Fireman’s carry into an inverted DDT. Young sets up for the Flying Squirrel, but Chase shoves him into a Phoenix STO.
(f) Chase & Phoenix defeated Patrick Bentley & Seth Delay.
Bentley & Delay send the heels flying to the floor. By the way, Bentley is a huge Tickle Me Elmo Doll. No wonder the man has a dark personality; it’s all because Johnson is always questioning his manhood. Delay runs shoulder first into the ringpost. Chase applies the Scorpion Death Lock on Delay. Phoenix tags in and uses the Giant Swing, but Delay spins his way out. Bentley receives the hot tag and cleans house. Johnson calls Bentley the Princess of Power. Bentley gets Full Articulation, but Delay made a blind tag. He shoves Bentley to the floor. Delay goes for the cover, but Phoenix rolls through for the victory. Chase is still awesome. Delay scorns Bentley for his own selfishness. He shoves Bentley. Bentley has a cold look in his eyes and knocks out Delay for being a real not a very nice person.
COMMENTS: Booking central probably learned their lesson about booking such a long gauntlet tag team match. There was very little continuity between the tag match because the team entering the ring had their music played. Nobody cared about the ending or the dissension between Bentley & Delay. This was harder to watch on TV than live. This was not as bad as watching a 17 tag team gauntlet match from Chikara.
- We return to the wishing well where Johnson was trying to steal money at the last big show. Hunter previews the upcoming NWA Anarchy Tag Title match. Johnson filed a report about his interview with both tag teams and returns Hunter’s wallet to him.

JS gets the bright idea to test Their G. Security is forced to hold UAS back from attacking JS. Palmer threatens to strip the title if they can’t shut up. JS cracks on their G and UAS accuses JS as being from the suburbs.
3. Urban Assault Squad (Shadow Jackson & Nemesis) defeated Justice Served (Jason Justice & Mikki Free) by DQ to retain the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles.
REFEREE: NWA Owner Jerry Palmer.
THE MATCH: Justice Served received a huge pop heading out to the ring. A four way ensues as the match begins. The action quickly spreads to the floor. Nemesis nearly commits suicide by hitting his head on the concrete floor by diving on Shadow and Free. Justice had even bigger ideas and wipes all three wrestlers with a huge somersault plancha. The fans show their appreciation with a “holy nuts” chant. UAS works over Free. Nemesis stiffs Free with some thunderous chops. Roderick Strong would have been proud. UAS continues to stiff the living nuts out of Free. Justice Served gains the advantage when Free uses a jawbreaker. Justice tags and squishes Shadow’s head. Nemesis wants to make the save, but the referee won’t let him. Justice further pisses off Nemesis by yelling, “We’re testing your G, pregnant dog!” Justice destroys Shadow with a slingshot legdrop. Justice kicks Shadow’s head for a field goal. d**n, than hurt. Justice scores another near fall with the Psycho slam. At 10:00, all hell breaks loose. Shadow delivers a neck wrenching back suplex to Justice. Free makes the save by nailing Shadow with a chain. Free eventually displays their chain and Palmer immediately disqualifies them. Justice Served dipped to avoid getting their asses handed to them by UAS.
COMMENTS: It was fun watching these two tag team stiffing the living nuts out of each other. This was the point where fans began turning on Justice Served because of their heinous acts. The disqualification finish was good booking.
RATING: **½
- After several commercials air at the beginning of Disc 2, we return to Whisper’s Lingerie. Hunter prepares to address Jeremy Vain gaining the opportunity of a lifetime until Johnson returns with a pink bag. Does Johnson actually think that Mary would even entertain the thought of kissing him underneath the mistletoe? Johnson must have purchased some Kentucky Smuckers while at the lingerie shop.
- Mary is here to take prerecorded comments from Jeremy Vain. Vain commands her to shut up. Styles will go from Phenomenal to another notch in Vain’s belt. Vain had a hilarious mishap when he slipped up on a line. Remember the name because you will all be screaming it later.
4. AJ Styles pinned Jeremy Vain.
THE MATCH: Vain lives up to his reputation early on by slapping Styles. Styles impresses the galley early on with a picturesque dropkick. Vain retreats to the ringside where Styles tosses him over the guardrail. Styles launches himself off the guardrail and sends Vain several rows back with a flying forearm. Styles provides a complimentary tour of the ringside area for a two count. Johnson informs us that Vain carried two partners to tag team gold. Vain gains the advantage when he shoves the referee into the ropes and caused Styles to fall on a springboard maneuver. Vain works over Styles’s abdominal with a gourdbuster for a two count. He slaps on an abdominal stretch and grabs the ropes to maintain his balance. Vain further dissects the mid-section by dropping Styles’s stomach on the top rope. The crowd rallies behind AJ as he escapes a chinlock and lands a Pele kick after taking an eye gouge. The referee exercises his count. Styles connects with his patented suplex into a Rude Awakening for a near fall. Styles ducks a clothesline and scores another two count with a front powerbomb. He signals for the Styles Clash, but Vain backdrops out. Vain follows up with a Gori driver for a near fall. He lands a superkick for a two count. Vain goes for a second VKO, but Styles counters it with the Clash for the win.
COMMENTS: Styles perhaps carried Vain to his best career singles performance. Vain stepped up his game and gained valuable experience by wrestling a great big name worker. This match had all around great heat and action.
RATING: ***¼
- Hunter & Johnson are standing in front of a gigantic Christmas tree. Sal Rinauro has an opportunity to dethrone Slim J, the only Grand Slam champion in Anarchy history. Johnson blathers about Rinauro grand slamming Slim J with a glass bottle and the fans not appreciating him.
- Sal Rinauro reminds Slim J is that it’s business, not personal. Slim J laughs that a champagne bottle to the head isn’t personal. Slim shows his jealousy for Rinauro’s Ring of Honor experience, BUSTER~! Just kidding. Slim wrestled for ROH’s sister promotion Full Impact Pro and had a good match with Jerrelle Clark on its debut show. Slim should definitely wrestle more dates outside of Georgia.
5. Slim J defeated Sal Rinauro by submission to retain the NWA Heavyweight Title.
THE MATCH: Slim launches a vicious assault on Rinauro that sends him scurrying to the floor like a coward. Rinauro armdrags Slim on a Test of Strength challenge and follows up with a series of brutal kicks to the back. They continue a War of Attrition by providing an exhibition in wrestling. Slim sticks to the ground game to maintain the advantage. Rinauro takes over when he trips up Slim and dropkicks him in the corner. Slim fights back with a top rope forearm. He makes the cover, but Slim’s foot was underneath the rope. Rinauro counters Slim’s punches with a dropkick. Slim fights out of a submission with a nice double stomp for a near fall. He dips for a backdrop, but Rinauro goes to the eyes and lands a flying knee for a two count. Johnson question the referee’s counting ability. Slim makes another comeback and scores a near fall with his patented top rope inverted DDT. Rinauro counters the Roach Clip and suplexes Slim by balancing himself on the middle rope for a two count. They head up to No Man’s land where J sets up for a superplex and turns it into a powerslam for a 2¾. Rinauro ducks Slim and catches Slim with a Sunset flip for a near fall. Rinauro scores another near fall after a pair of pie faces and flip kick. Slim blocks a kick, trips up Rinauro and quickly disposes of him with the Roach Clip.
COMMENTS: This was an intense match that told a great story. This match was just another example of letting wrestlers do their thing without having to worry about any goofy endings. There were a few sloppy spots, but it didn’t take away from the match in the least. The early chain wrestling was top notch. Slim J proved that he can hang with the heavyweights and Rinauro is just more than a comedy midcard heel. Slim has shown little problem by transitioning from a high flyer to a ground based attack.
RATING: ***½
- John Johnson has a problem: he can’t find the Anarchy Angel Miss Mary. He asks a man what room or cabin is she in. Johnson previews the upcoming NWA Elite vs. Devil’s Rejects match. He becomes agitated when the man can’t find her. To Johnson’s disbelief, Hunter hangs up the phone after talking to Mary and says she two blocks down.
- Jeff G Bailey shoves ER aside and calls Dan Wilson walking ectoplasm. The Devil’s Rejects are a joke and the Elite rule the NWA. He reintroduces Mikael Judas, fresh out of Puerto Rico. Bailey promises to make Dan scream like the mother of a molested child. Sick.
6. The Devil’s Rejects (Shaun Tempers & Azreal & Tank & Iceberg) w/Dan Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness & Dominous vs. NWA Elite (Onyx & Jeff Lewis & Mikael Judas & Kory Chavis) w/Jeff G Bailey
PREMATCH: Hunter calls Bailey the man who wrote the book on evil. After Michael Judas’s entry, Bailey reminds Wilson that his piss puddle of the Rejects is nothing to the bottomless pit of talent the NWA Elite has. Bailey wishes the jerk off with a special Christmas gift in the “Soul Assassin” Rainman Kory Chavis.
THE MATCH: Johnson lists the accolades of the NWA Elite 97,345 title reigns from NWA Wildside & NWA Anarchy history. Bailey’s resume looks extremely impressive on paper and in practice. Meanwhile, Wilson has a classic confrontation with a member of ringside who was giving him hell. Lewis & Onyx double suplex to Iceberg early on. Hunter points out Wilson is doing the Devil’s work, but Bailey is the devil himself. Johnson mentions Bailey has managed seven of the eight competitors in this contest. Chavis connects with a sit down facebuster on Azreal for a two count. Azreal blocks a kick and connects with a powerbomb on Chavis. Judas busts open Tank by jabbing his upside down cross on his head. Bailey takes time to chomp Tank’s head and chomp it like Pac Man. Azreal nails Chavis and runs into an elbow by Tank. “The 600 Pound Being of Inconceivable Horror” and “Professional Wrestling’s Only Serial Killer” Iceberg tags in. Wilson jabs Chavis with the Staff of Righteousness. The Rejects work over Chavis for the next several minutes. Tank sits Chavis on the top rope and catches him with a dropkick. Chavis fights out of the Tempermatic with the Dark City Street Cutter. Judas cleans house after receiving the hot tag. Iceberg prevents Judas from finishing off Tempers with the La Crucifijo. Judas goozles Iceberg, but he lands a low blow while everyone else is brawling at ringside. Judas cuts off Iceberg at the pass and dazzles everyone with an amazing feat of strength by catching him with the La Crucifijo. Dominous is incensed, but Judas isn’t impressed. Judas goozles Dominous, but Iceberg makes the save with a vicious club to the back. Dominous chokeslams Judas and Iceberg follows up with the Ground Zero splash. Judas receives another Ground Zero splash when the referee Jacob Ashworth is pulled to the floor by the Rejects.
POSTMATCH: The Rejects hoist Judas in mid air and Iceberg leaps off the rope with a double stomp. That was truly a Holy nuts moment if I ever saw one. A small group of fans chant “Devil’s Rejects.” Bailey rolls into the ring to check on Judas. The Rejects pose while the Elite writhe in pain. A few minutes later, Lewis & Onyx toss a trainee into the ring and release their frustrations on the poor individual.
COMMENTS: This told the story of two heel factions playing the human game of chess. There was much brutality to be had and postmatch beatdown on Judas was crazy. Everyone ate up Judas confronting Dominous and Tank’s middle rope double stomp. This feud is money in the bank for Anarchy.
RATING: ***½
- Hunter & Johnson is accompanied by Miss Mary. Johnson’s plan has come to fruition. He holds up the mistletoe and kisses Miss Mary. Miss Mary eludes him and Johnson kisses a horse. SWERVE~! Listerine won’t even solve Johnson’s battle with chronic halitosis tonight.
- Chad Parham doesn’t need ER or a mike to tell Todd Sexton what is going to happen to him. Parham blathers about his run as Anarchy Heavyweight Champion. Eddie Rich should his name to Rodney Dangerfield because nobody is showing him any respect. Parham took the match because only wanted his title shot.
7. “The Technician” Todd Sexton pinned “Technical Perfection” Chad Parham.
PREMATCH: Todd Sexton’s lost a retirement match over 11 months ago against then NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Mikael Adryan.
THE MATCH: Hunter will be d**ned because Parham can slam revolving doors. Johnson refers to Sexton’s whiteness and we should bow down and worship Parham. Johnson calls the two months Sexton was out from the double stomp on a chair the best of his life. Parham retreats to ringside and asks for a microphone. Parham reminds Sexton the only reason he accepted this match was to receive his Anarchy title shot. Parham makes for a payday by walking back to the locker room, but Sexton stops him. Johnson mentions one of the hundred facts about Parham is that he can drown a fish. Parham takes back over and removes a turnbuckle cover. Parham executes a stalling vertical suplex over the top rope to the floor. Sexton drops Parham thigh first on the guardrail before tossing him back in the ring. Sexton charges in and runs chest first into the exposed turnbuckle when Parham moves. Parham dominates the next few minutes. Remember, if at first you don’t succeed, you’re not Chad Parham. Parham lands the double stomp and senton for a near fall. Sexton buys himself valuable time by escaping a piledriver with a backdropping Parham on the exposed turnbuckle. Sexton superkicks Parham. They trade vicious forearms. Sexton fights back after Parham tells him to “Eat nuts, Todd.” Sexton sets up for a second superkick, but Parham catches his leg and places his feet on the ropes for a near fall. Sexton riles up the crowd and slaps on the Sharpshooter. The fans command Parham to tap, but Sexton switches to the crossface. Parham contemplates tapping and Johnson says he never would. Parham rolls over to the ropes to break the hold. Parham clips Sexton and he crashes into the referee. Parham piledrives Sexton, but the referee is knocked out. That was pretty smart Chad. Referee Wesley Grissom heads out and makes a two count. Parham makes him pay the price by tossing him to the floor. Sexton reverses a second piledriver into a pinfall for the victory.
POSTMATCH: The faces empty the locker room to celebrate with Todd Sexton. Johnson is enraged and calls it an outrage. Parham is having a nice Christmas and backs into Jerry Palmer. Parham exits stage left.
COMMENTS: This match was a letdown considering the hype surrounding Sexton’s return. The crowd was emotionally drained, but it’s still no excuse for two ring veterans to fail to maintain the crowd’s interest. This match was a learning lesson and neither wrestler was subsequently hurt by the main event.
RATING: **
OVERALL: Season’s Beatings featured several great matches and a pair of misfires. Rockwell & Rave did an excellent job of setting the bar high early on and putting on a performance that the crowd could get into. The booking committee has probably learned its lesson about long and meaningless gauntlet matches. The second half was spot on despite having a lackluster main event. The Rejects/Elite feud picked up steam, Slim J and Rinauro put on a wrestling, the “hometown” hero AJ Styles thwarted Vain’s evil plot and Parham made a successful comeback. Add to that an incredibly stiff match for tag gold between UAS and JS and you have yourself a great show. This DVD is a must have for any Anarchy fan or of independent wrestling in general. Definitely a thumbs up.
